Leading up to the 2014 college football season, the Autism Society of North Carolina, Hardison & Cochran Attorneys at Law, and UNC Athletics teamed up to create TeamAutismNC.
The campaign aims to inform the people North Carolina about Autism and also the resources offered by the Autism Society of North Carolina.
Autism Awareness Game
Each season, one UNC home football game is designated as the Autism Awareness Game. The 2019 Autism Awareness game will take place on September 21st as UNC takes on the Mountaineers of Appalachain State in Chapel Hill, NC.
Prior to the game, the Autism Society of North Carolina will be located in Tar Heel Town. ASNC Staff members will be on hand to answer any questions fans have a concerning autism or services.
Spread the Word
The campaign asks the people of NC to become a member of the team and help spread the word. Team members receive weekly e-mails during the college football season with educational info, stories and stats about autism in North Carolina.
In 2019, members who are subscribed to the weekly e-mail list at the end of the season will be entered to win a Wood Pellet Grill.
